The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary environment with other Mechanical, Electronics, and Electrical engineers to develop parts, assemblies and complete products in the areas of Electronic/ Electrical housing, Telescopic Masts/ Tripods, high-precision Motion Systems (Rotators/ Positioners) and complex platform integration on vehicles and/or trailers. Responsible for planning and executing Mechanical designs using CAD/ CAM software; Performing Simulations and Analysis using FEA/ CFD to validate and refine designs; Prototype development and DFMEA and Testing. The candidate will need to apply various Mechanical engineering disciplines including but not limited to Strength of Material, Heat transfer and Machine design (Shafts and gears) to develop the aforementioned products.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD and 3D Modeling.
- Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs using FEA and CFD for design optimization and FOS (Factor of Safety).
- Strong working capability with CAD and CAE simulation (Solid works, CATIA, Pro-Engineer, ANSYS etc).
- Ability to deliver designs with datum structure, GD&T and accurate tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Sales: Meet internal milestones tracking towards sales realization and order book targets.
- Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards.
- Working knowledge of a large variety of materials (aluminium, steel etc.)
- Experience with design for reliability and respective durability testing requirements.
- Knowledge of stress analysis, gear mechanism, torque calculations, mechanical transmission system and strength of the material.
- Able to generate cost–out ideas, and value engineering proposals.
- Must be capable of designing and calculating the power requirements for electric drives for BLDC/ DC/ Stepper motors.
- Appreciation for Electronic packaging, Various IP (ingress Protection) standards and EMI / EMC will be an added advantage.
Candidate Profile
- B.Tech/B.E and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed and recognized Institute.
- A minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with knowledge of Mechanical engineering disciplines such as Strength of Material, heat transfer, Vibrations and Machine design.
- Attention to detail and critical analysis.
- The ability to stay updated with the advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
- Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances).
- Familiar with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and different manufacturing processes including machining, arc & spot welding, PDC injection moulding etc will be an advantage.
